I HEARD, “THE LANDSCAPE OF YOUR LIFE IS CHANGING”
Some weeks ago, I had a very strange dream. After seeking the Lord for what it means, and sharing it with a few close friends, I know that it is a word from the Lord.
In the dream, I was in a house looking out one of two very large windows overlooking the yard. In the dream I knew it was my house, but it was not the house I currently live in. In the yard were three workers, construction equipment and storage units. Our shed and back fence were gone, and everything we had planted. The workers were tagging three willow trees that were bordering a neighbor’s property. I was upset and went outside and told them they had no right to do this, that this was our property. The man in charge said, “The owner has rights.” I was confused because I thought my husband and I were the owners.
My husband and I walked to the back edge of our property where the fence had been. We now saw that it was a very high place overlooking a vast expanse of ocean. There was a ledge about six feet below and my husband jumped onto it. I was gripped by fear and yelled, “What are you doing?” He lifted his hand and I pulled him up. I woke up.
As I shared the dream with my husband, I heard by the Spirit of the Lord, “The landscape of your life is changing.” As soon as I spoke those words, I felt the presence of God and knew He was the Owner in the dream. I was immediately convicted because when hearing, “The landscape of your life is changing” my first thought was, “But I like the current landscape,” still thinking of the natural landscape and that everything we had planted had been removed.
When I realized the magnitude of what I was sensing on the spiritual level, the fear of the Lord gripped me. I know that we are in a time of great upheaval, a shaking of all that can be shaken; I have preached and prophesied it now for a number of years! But in this instance, there was an immediacy I sensed. My spiritual senses were alert to the immensity of what is coming in all of our lives. There will be blessing and great glory, wonderful miraculous things God will do, but in the “world” there will be much travail and tribulation.
“The landscape of your life is changing” now gave me understanding of the symbolism in the dream, besides the Owner being God and the obvious construction underway in the landscape of our property in the dream.
SYMBOLISM
Three workers – Father, Son, Holy Spirit – working together to enact the purposes of God.
Construction equipment – God is tearing down old structures that do not serve His purposes, and building something new.
Storage units – All supplies necessary for the new day are ready and in place, waiting for the timing of the Lord.
Fencing removed – All barriers removed; both obstructions on the path as well as hindrances to our vision.
Two windows – The blessings of heaven and increased vision. Two represents agreement, double portion, and seeing in the natural and spiritual.
Vast expanse of ocean – Limitless horizons and the depths of the spiritual life we will traverse in the Lord.
My husband jumping off – There are many that will be taking leaps of faith, sometimes it may seem they are entering danger. We cannot let fear enter in and hinder what God is doing; we may not understand or be perceiving correctly. This also represents the importance of others coming alongside when some are stepping out into unknown arenas.
Three willow trees tagged for removal – Removing the trees is another sign of expanded vision and horizons, but there is a much deeper meaning. The willow tree’s proper name is Salix Babylonica. Babylon means confusion, mixture, apostacy. Three willow trees indicate three sources of mixture – the world, the flesh and the devil.
Babel was the city that became Babylon. It was where the people were united in an evil plan to build a tower to try and reach heaven, and where God confused their language to stop them. It represents rebellion, pride, lawlessness, chaos and deception. We know according to the book of Revelation that Babylon will fall, and in the dream the three willow trees were “tagged for removal.” I heard the Holy Spirit say that He is exposing for eradication all Babylonian mixture, filters of the ways of the world that have brought confusion to the Body of Christ and hindered the Lord’s purposes.
Willows also represent sorrow and captivity. Ps. 137 refers to the time God’s people were held captive in Babylon. "By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof." (Psa 137:1-2 KJV)
Ezekiel was captive in Babylon also, and the windows of heaven were opened to him. He had many visions and received God’s words to warn His people of the need for repentance because of mixture, rebellion, worldliness, and idolatry. The message applies today! The word of the Lord brings warning, but there is always hope in accordance with His redemptive purposes when we repent and turn to Him. He has His ways to loose His people from captivity to the Babylonian system!
I heard the Spirit of the Lord say, “I am uprooting and removing for necessary reproving. I will bring forth My redemptive plan, in My righteousness you will stand. In the places where there has been a rift, I allowed the enemy to sift, but now you will see a paradigm shift! Your new refrain will bring glory to My Great Name!”
On a personal level, I reflected on the last months considering “the landscape of your life is changing.” I realized that it has already begun. I had to get a new website and it was a lot of work for many months. We also developed our YouTube channel significantly. In addition, a new area of ministry is becoming clearer. These are all changing landscapes. I admit that I was not happy with the work I had to do; in fact, I was annoyed and irritable! But when I heard, “The landscape of your life is changing,” my view was reframed by the knowledge that God has a purpose for the changes! I encourage you to consider recent events in your life in view of, “the landscape of your life is changing.”
I heard by the Spirit of the Lord the following: “Watch as I remove what has been hindering My plans for your life from coming to fruition. Do not be alarmed as people come and people go. I am bringing those that will further My purposes. I am removing what has been draining your energy - time stealers. Watch and see what I am doing; take note of the interruptions to your habits, for I am using them to break old patterns. I am answering your prayers according to My ways. I am bringing fresh insight to problem areas. The wind of My Spirit is releasing revelation for movement in the direction that I choose. I am clearing the path for a new positioning.”
As we see the shaking of the systems of the world, many are (or will be) fearful. I heard the Lord say: “I have supplies the world knows not of. Do not let fear come near! I am the One who in the wilderness makes a way, the earth responds to the words I say, in a moment it shall be as a new day. I part the sea, bring manna from heaven. I say now remove all leaven - your thoughts of unbelief and doubt – speak faith and watch My goodness come about!
"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert. The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen. This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise." (Isa 43:18-21 KJV)
The Spirit of the Lord continued, “For I the Lord have spoken it, let it sink down into your ears and go deep in your heart and you will receive what I long to impart. As I told you before, I bring provision for fruition. My word is the seed that brings forth the new start. I will provide when in Me you abide. When you heard Me say, “The landscape of your life is changing,” it caused a shift and a turning, and in your heart came a deeper yearning, even as a fire burning. Now I say, get ready for the new day. Watch and see, it will be as I say. In faith be steady – alert, watching, always ready. I am removing evil foundations from My people in every nation. I am the Owner of all the land, I will move and none shall stay My hand. I am moving with My rod and staff to remove all chaff and destroy every golden calf.”
He continued, “Have I not told you that I make a way? Hear Me, listen to what I say, believe My words, trust and obey. The darkness will come, and many structures will fall, it must be so before the trumpet call. I will be made known in the midst of it all. For My Kingdom shall stand, it is without end, when the worlds’ systems crumble, My resources I send. Do not fear, the landscape is changing, know that I AM rearranging, continue to trust, upon Me be gazing. Kingdoms will rise and Kingdoms will fall, and I will be seen as Lord of all. Miraculous wonders and many signs you shall see as you keep your heart and life yielded to Me.”
