GIDEONS ARISE AND LET THE SWORD OF THE LORD COME FORTH FROM YOUR MOUTH!
We are in a war, and Holy Spirit has been releasing strategic battle plans and new weapons to many through dreams, visions and revelation. We can see battles daily between the kingdoms; there is shaking of things that can be shaken, much sifting and shifting. God’s plumb line has fallen for separation of good and evil. As I was meditating on these things, I was given a vision of a silver sword thrusting forth from an open mouth. Immediately these verses came to mind:"He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance [was] like the sun shining in its strength. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations…" (Rev. 1:16, 19:15a NKJV)In the next moment, I heard clearly, “The sword of the Lord, and of Gideon.” As I read through the accounts in Judges chapters 6 and 7, Holy Spirit began revealing correlations to current battles for the Kingdom of God in our nation, and strategic insights for victory. The Israelites had done evil and been delivered into the Midianites’ hands for seven years; seven symbolizes completion. They cried out to God, and an angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon. The Lord told Gideon he was to bring forth deliverance. I am hearing the Lord saying that we have completed a cycle. He has heard our cries. Angels have been dispatched; Gideons are receiving assignments for the sword of the Lord unto deliverance and setting His order.Gideon asked for and received multiple confirmations; the turning point for Gideon was overhearing a man telling a prophetic dream and another’s interpretation:"And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand hath God delivered Midian, and all the host. And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian." (Judges 7:14-15 NKJV)The Lord has brought multiple confirmations in recent times to show us He is with us and calling us to battle; many dreams and visions have been come to those who have been waiting on the Lord for battle plans…so that faith is high when the time is nigh. The Lord reduced Gideon’s army to 300, representing the faithful remnant. Each had a trumpet and a lamp hidden in a clay vessel. The trumpet represents the sword of the Lord in our mouths, and the lamp is His light in our earthen vessels. Many have been hidden until such a time as this, NOW our lights are to be seen and our voices strong in the power of the Word of the Lord – as HE speaks. The word of God is a sharp two-edged sword (Heb. 4:12) and a key weapon in our spiritual armory (Eph. 6:17). Jesus Himself IS the Word of God! (John 1:1, 14; Rev. 19:13) A rhema word from the Lord spoken out of our mouth delivers His power from heaven to earth!"And he said unto them, Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall ye do. When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that [are] with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon." (Judges 7:17-18 KJV)Jesus said that He only said what He heard the Father speak, and only did that which He saw the Father doing. Holy Spirit reminded me of the verse, “As He is, so are we in the world.”"Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world." (1 John 4:17 KJV)Most commentators interpret “day of judgment” as the final judgment. According to Strong’s Concordance, the word day also means time, and judgment means separation, a trial, a decision concerning justice. There have been many words about the justice of God coming forth now in the earth. It is time for the sword of the Lord, and of Gideon, in the earth. Luke 21:15 tells us that He will give us a mouth and wisdom that no adversary can speak against or resist! The Lord is calling forth a remnant of warriors perfected in His love, attuned to His voice, willing to be His mouthpiece and waiting for His command. These have been sifted mightily and will go forward in HIS faith – the faith of Jesus – knowing that our faith is not enough - for these battles are HIS. The faith of Jesus has forged the sword in our mouths. Coming forth are those who have been hidden in His quiver, now to be released in His perfect timing for the battle at hand."And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;" (Isaiah 49:2 KJV)The name Gideon, according to Strong’s Concordance, means “hewer,” - one who fells or cuts down. Gideon’s father Joash had built an altar to Baal. God told Gideon to tear it down. He took ten men with him, tore down the altar of Baal and erected an altar to the Lord. Ten is the number of order; they set God’s order in the land, and it is time to set God’s order in OUR land! The men of the city told Joash to bring Gideon out to be killed. Joash responded that if Baal was a god he could plead for himself, and named Gideon Jerubbaal, which means “let Baal contend,” according to Strong’s Concordance.Baal is contending with God in our nation, and the Lord wants the altars to Baal (and other idols) in the hearts of His people torn down! Baal idols are immorality and prosperity – even sacrificing children for prosperity and sexual freedom. Jesus rebuked the church at Pergamos of the doctrine of Balaam and the Nicolaitans (Rev. 2:12-16) – misusing God’s gifts for personal gain, practicing sexual immorality and idolatry. He said if they didn’t repent he would fight them with the sword of His mouth.I have been hearing the Lord saying that much of the war we are in is because the church has been silent, allowing other things to have lordship. The nations will know that He is the LORD when His Name is hallowed in us! Father, hallowed be thy name!"And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the LORD," says the Lord GOD, "when I am hallowed in you before their eyes." (Ezekiel 36:23 NKJV)This is why Moses could not enter the promised land – he did not hallow God before the people (Num. 20:12)! How? He didn’t speak to the Rock what God said; it would have been as a sword from his mouth, piercing the rock with the Word of the Lord!"Is not My word like a fire?" says the LORD, "And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?" (Jeremiah 23:29 NKJV)We are in a clashing of kingdoms; the enemy is contending against the Most High! The final victory has already been won by Jesus, and we will see every enemy of the cross under His feet as we make Him known. A remnant of Gideons is rising, having gone through multiple siftings to remove the idols in their hearts, allowing the LORD to have full place. The angels are being dispatched with assignments; move forward with the Sword of the Lord in your mouths! Mighty signs and wonders will happen when we are fully obedient in God’s directives and perfect timing! We will speak Truth and living waters will become new wine to bring life to the nations! The end result of Gideon’s battle was that the enemy fled, and two chief princes were beheaded - Oreb at the rock, and Zeeb at the winepress. The rock and the winepress; the Lord is the Rock, and this is the year of the new wine. Gideons are being called forth; the sword of the Lord in your mouth will fell the enemy’s strongholds over the people (2 Cor. 10:4), and the mountains will begin to flow with new wine!"And it will come to pass in that day that the mountains shall drip with new wine, The hills shall flow with milk, And all the brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water; A fountain shall flow from the house of the LORD And water the Valley of Acacias." (Joel 3:18 NKJV)Gideons arise and let the sword of the Lord come forth from your mouth!alanehaynes.com
